Drunken Teen Caught Driving With Box of Wine in Car

Information provided by the Stow Police Department.

 

On Dec. 21, officers pulled over a car for weaving in its lanes on Graham Road, according to a Stow police report.

A 17-year-old from Independence was driving and had a passenger, also 17, from Independence, in the car, the report stated. Officers asked the driver to perform and breath test, and she blew at 0.107. The legal limit is 0.08.

Officers also found a box of Franzia wine in the car, the report stated.

Police charged the driver with drunken driving, prohibitions, curfew and weaving in lanes. Police charged the passenger with curfew and prohibitions.

Wow, she is lucky she did not get a drunken driving charge. Technically, it's a 'zero-tolerance' state for under 21 drivers who are drinking. The 0.08 limit only applies to those 21+. If she had 0.03, she still could have been charged with drunken driving.
