Why is this crap on a fire engine? Since when is a glock a city issued firearm? And why is it not secured. This is a joke, right? Please tell me your site got hacked. If not, please tell me who got fired and when?

Bill, unfortunately this is probably not a joke. And if or when something happens involving this stuff, the criminal here will be of course the gun. But you think exactly like me. What in the world was this stuiff doing in a firetruck? And why was it not secured so as not to be stolen? But if this is investigated no fireman, no police , no city worker will ever be fired, or at least reprimanded.

Sorry misread. Thought it was in the station. All other comments still remain. Who will get fired for this and when?

Then how about shutting the hell up already and learn to read. You're more concerned about someone that is none of your business rather than the person who broken into a car and stole all of this stuff.

Why don't you explain to us why this person should be fired and what rules/laws were broken. Yeah, I can wait, Beavis. I'm on vacation.

HARMON, i believe it is illegal to have a firearm on city property. If he went to any kind of training he should know that you secure a gun and either take the ammo with you or store it somewhere seperate from the gun so this doesn't happen. Doesn't the fire dept have security cameras.

Firearms are not automatically prohibited on city property.

The gun was secured. It was clearly stated the car was broken into.

Perhaps you and Bill Kuenzli can sign up for the next Remedial Reading Comprehension class.

I guess we should make every person responsible for every item they own that could end up in the hands of the wrong person. I don't think the firefighter is wrong for having a weapon in their vehicle. If the vehicle is locked then it is secure.

We seem to have guns everywhere in this society. Now, another criminal has a gun plus a bulletproof vest. If city policies were violated, the firefighter should be disciplined. Why are people keeping guns in their cars anyway? Paranoia perhaps?

Firearms are prohibited within the firehouse, or any other government building. Therefore, a gun must be secured in your vehicle before entering the firehouse.

" Why are people keeping guns in their cars anyway?"

Because you're allowed to. Good grief.

No firearm's allowed on city property not just inside firehouse; includes parking lot.

Many of the comments made regarding this gun issue, just goes to show how ignorant( uninformed) most people really are. There is a very strong definition legally about "securing" a firearm. And there is no sane person who would leave a gun in a parked car or truck. Even if this fireman had a conceal carry permit, he had to have pass a training class and demonstrate qualify use, AND TAUGHT NOT TO LEAVE GUN IN A PARKED CAR OR TRUCK AT A PUBLIC PLACE. iF HE REALLY TOOK THE REQUIRED CLASS HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER. In either case this is outrageous and he should be reprimanded. In fact if he had the gun near a school or even a childs playground he could be prosecuted. And yes I took the class and fully understand.

Securing a firearm in a locked vehicle is required when one has tyo enter a building where it is prohibited (i.e. a bank, government building ). You have quite obviously no knowledge of the CCW requirements or the laws regarding the transport of a firearm in a motor vehicle. So, given your ignorance on this topic, it would be good if you climbed down off your pulpit.

Gee Mr. Kelly: Name calling? Sweet. I am not worthy. So, what makes you such a bitter old troll? I deleted a reply or two, because I realized a return flame is what a troll lives for. I did enough research on this site to see that name calling and insult is your MO in this forum. Look me up. That is NOT my MO. I'm mostly into puppies. I also see you primarily like to pick on women. Niiiiice, Mr. Kelly. Really manly of you.

So either put down your Daddy's laptop and go away or get some anger management counseling. BTW, I would say all this to your face if you were standing in front of me. I bet you don't have the cahones to say the garbage you say from the safety of your keyboard to people's faces. Probably a real nice, upstanding businessman in public. Right, Butthead? Call me wrong. Look me up. I'm in the book.

Signed,
Beavis

Ed Fisher, Again you are wrong. The only thing that exceeds your ignorance is your rudeness and wrong attitude. And I do have a ccw. I do know and am not ignorany of the topic. My bet would be you are just a belligerent, ignorant person, only having a big mouth!

Ok, tough guy. What do you do with your firearm when you enter a bank ? Or the mall ? Now what kind of CCW "training class" did you attend that "taught" you "NOT TO LEAVE GUN IN A PARKED CAR OR TRUCK AT A PUBLIC PLACE" ? I really think that you're the ignorant one here, as your lack of knowledge regarding firearm law is obvious. Now, you may continue to posture and beat your chest, but I'm not at all impressed or intimidated. As for church, you again display an ignorance that all can see. You don't like my attitude ? Too bad, sonny, go take a nap.

Ed, listen up! In the ccw class we were taught to put your weapon in a locked firearm bow, which is inside your trunk. Talk about lack of knowledge. Did you actually take a ccw class or are you just shooting off your mouth. There is no posturing here Ed, and you are to ignorant to be impressed. So hope you calm down, take a class or two and while your at it maybe an anger management class might help!

This insult-for-insult crap is just plain stupid. Now, let's try this....While it is good practice to lock a firearm in a trunk box, it is NOT the law as required for a CCW permit holder. Now, please, go back to your original rant in this thread and note the emotional capital letter pronouncements and your righteous attitude while proclaiming your superiority over us "ignorant" individuals. Yes, I have a CCW permit. Training per Ohio Revised Code Section 2923.125. Now, again, if you indeed had any formal firearm training, (doubtful) you would not make the ridiculous statements in the first post. There IS NO "lock box" law or requirement for CCW permit holders. Understand? You began this exchange by claiming "how ignorant (uninformed) most people really are" Then, you proceeded to spout misinformation in capital letters like an immature teenager. So, take a break from your high place. Don't worry about my attitude. It allows me to function very effectively in a world full of "tough guys" and know-it-alls. I occasionally take offense to ignorant blathering passed off as knowledge. Try to remember...facts are your friend.

ED. This "insult for insult" is stupid yes. But then seems that you spin most of I say into whatever you want it to be. IDID NOT SAY THE LAW REQUIRED A LOCK BOX IN TRUNK! However if you have the most remote idea about what can happen to a car parled at the mall or probably most other places, you would have to agree IT MAKES A WHOLE LOT OF SENSE! TAHTA BEONG SAID THEN WHY START WITH THE RUDE REMARKS ABOUT OUR IGNORANCE. I do have a lock box and it is in my car trunk. I therefore have done the logical best thing if I have to leave it in the vehicle. I have been doing this while you flap you lips about the law requirements. So lets just let it go!
