Fourth of July Parade Won't Have to Detour Around Kent Road Construction

The construction on S.R. 59 will be done by July 4.

Construction that began April 25 on Kent Road near Charring Cross Drive will be finished by the upcoming holiday.

The 150+ floats and hundreds of people walking in the 54th annual Fourth of July parade won't have to detour around the construction.

Mayor Sara Drew explained the construction has to do with a waterline replacement that happened on Charring Cross Drive.

"The drop dead day to finish that is July 4," said Community Information Coordinator Linda Nahrstedt.

Information from the Stow Police Department:

"Be advised that Kent Road will be down to one lane each direction, (curb lanes open) from Hiwood Avenue to Charring Cross Drive for approximately three weeks. They will be working on the inside lanes both directions."

The paving got done and nobody has done a thing for almost a week! Why not paint the lines and remove the barrels?
