Your change could contribute to changing the education the children receive in Mali, Africa.

The students at Fishcreek Elementary are selling $1 bracelets with all of the proceeds going to help build a Stow school in Mali through African Sky, a charity founded by Scott Lacy, Ph.D., a 1989 graduate of the high school and a Munroe Falls native.

Fourth grade Fishcreek student Isaac White saw that the high school was raising money for a Stow school and was convinced he could raise some funds at his school as well. The ultimate goal is to raise $12,000.

"He recruited three other friends to help him organize and advertise for the fundraiser," said his mother, Anne White.

The goal is to raise at least $300, because that's how many wristbands they have to sell. 

The wristbands will be for sale every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from now until Feb. 3 in the hallways at Fishcreek during lunch time. 

There's potential to raise more than $300 though if all of the wristbands sell because each classroom is collecting spare change.

Each classroom will collect change in a jar and the room with the most money collected by Feb. 6 will get a pizza party.
