High School Hires New Assistant Principal

Chris DiMauro just signed a two-year contract after the Board of Education approved hiring him as the assistant principal at the high school.

Chris DiMauro, the new assistant principal at the  is no stranger to building or the students.

Before the approved his two-year contract Aug. 8, he taught 11th and 12th grade language arts and American and British literature. 

The start of this school year marks his seventh year with the district.

"We're really excited to have our new assistant principal. We look forward to your leadership and interaction with our staff," Superintendent Russ Jones said during the Aug. 8 meeting.

The Youngstown State University and Walden University graduate says he's looking forward to "creating new relationships with students, faculty and community members and upholding the strong traditions we have built here at the high school."

DiMauro is replacing . DiMauro will make $72,000 annually.

In his first year as assistant principal, DiMauro said he has a few goals to cross off before the end of the year.

"One of my my goals is to increase communication and visibility throughout our building. Another major goal is to promote new methods of technology based instruction and assessment," he said.
