"Highland School K-Kids (Kiwanis Kids), grades 1st through 4th conducted a service project for the Eighth Annual St. Pet’s Day Celtic Club Pet Food Drive. Their project was to advertise via posters at school, fliers for home and word of mouth to family and friends to collect food and litter to help animal rescue groups/shelters in need of supplies," said Fire Safety Educator Sandy Ray. "In as little as two weeks’ time, Highland School students and their families generously donated numerous bags of cat/dog food and litter for animals in the surrounding shelters. Highlands’s donation was the largest so far and nearly quadrupled what was already donated to the Stow Fire Department, (one of the many donation sites in Summit County.)"
