KFC in the Falls to be a Krispy Krunchy Chicken, Decision for Stow Location Still Unknown
The restaurant will remain open, but if it's still a KFC is still unknown.
The Cuyahoga Falls KFC is set to become a Krispy Krunchy Chicken, but the future of the KFC in Stow is still up in the air.
"In 2010, KFC sued Rao’s Hospitality, Gita Rao and Ganesh Rao Ponneri, alleging copyright infringement and breach of contract. KFC said the franchise failed to pay about $175,000 in royalties and advertising fees," according to an Akron Beacon Journal story. In March, Rao's Hospitality and KFC Corp. received a settlement in U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the restaurants were ordered to close by May 31, 2012 at midnight.
The Cuyahoga Falls KFC already closed and will be leased to be a Krispy Krunchy Chicken. But, the Stow location that was newly renovated remains open.
"The renovations were mandated by KFC corporate, said Peter Paul, human resource director for Rao's Hospitality. Paul said Rao's spent approximately $370,000 on the Stow restaurant's recent facelift. 'We plan to keep it open,' he said, adding that whether the restaurant will remain a KFC remains to be seen," according to a Falls News Press story.

If you have ever been to the one in Stow, from a distance it looks nice. Once you get up to the building though you see that whoever they hired to do the remodel did a horrible job. I won't even mention the one here in town.

It looks like the name changed recently. Yesterday, I noticed the (temporary) signage covering up the old KFC stuff (although at night, you can still see the Colonel).

I saw it today too! I took (a pretty poor) picture. But I'll add it to this post. I'll find out soon opening day plans, etc.

We ate there last evening, and to say it was the" WORST FOOD, WORST SERVICE, WORST EXPERIENCE, THERE CAN NOT BE A WORST PLACE IN STOW TO EAT, because they either would be out of business or the health dept would close it" The chicken was anything but chrunchy, the side dishes were cold, and top it all we ate out of a card board box, and a sack!! The biscuits were burned, and they do not serve or have butter.
The owner/operator of this place should be embarrassed. The remodeling job was awful. The food was terrible, four people can not sit a table without being crammed and stepping on each other. There is not one thing good I can say about this place.
I do not believe that any one in Stow, could disagree unless they have never attempted to eat there! I predict it willbe out of business in a year!!

starkey has a very negative view on everything. According to him krispy chicken should be embarrassed and also the city of stow for having a dog park. He sounds like a bitter old man!!!!!

Jim may- How presumptious of you to say I have a negative view on everything. Before you make insulting remarks two things: 1 you should have eaten at the chicken place 2. You do not know me, I do not know you so it is a real stretch for you to make statements like that. If you have eaten at that krispy chicken in Stow and liked it, which now is closed, you are very easily pleased. I only hope that you
allow honest opinions here. After all that is what this thing is about. There are lots of things I am positive of and that you are wrong is one of them.

If these people are the same owners of the former KFC on W. Market St. near Acme, he most likely is CORRECT. They were always out of most chicken by 6PM, claim they had no more to fry , try to sell you the odds & ends left in the warmer and usually were also out of most side dishes. We tried it 4 different times and have finally given up. Better off to drive to the Valley to Fiesta Pizza for their chicken, but allow yourself some extra time as they are usually behind. Or else try Popeye's on N. Howard St., but be careful of people hanging around in the parking lot. Their food is usually hot and fresh. It's a shame we can't get a decent chicken dinner here on the West Side of Akron w/o driving a distance!

Weird that this story popped up in my current Stow news feed. Krispy Krunchie Chicken lasted about one month here-the food was awful! I even heard that one day they remained open, even though they ran out of chicken! I personally LOVE fried chicken, and was glad to give them a shot. But one visit was enough. They didn't make it very long here in stow. The good people of cuyahoga falls can get themselves fried chicken from some of the local pizza shops, and they wont make it there either!
