GYPSIES IN THE PALACE
The blue lights made David Hill and his band look like they were under crystal blue water.

Community Information Coordinator Linda Nahrstedt said about 3,000 people made it out for the annual Labor Day event at Silver Springs Park

That figure was way off the expected 15,000-person crowd, but the rain is to blame for that.

Showers came down on and off during the event. But, the band — Jimmy Buffett cover band Gypsies in the Palace — still played and the fireworks still went off without a hitch.

Did you go? What did you think of this year's event? What was your favorite part?

Thanks to all involved and sponsoring the beautiful Fireworks display. We look forward to them each year and gather with our family to watch. They were beautiful. Thanks Stow!

Nice shots, Manda! Love the one of the Gypsies in the Palace frontman in the blue light and the woman who's really happy to put powdered sugar on her funnel cake.
