Look What's Moving Into the Former Liquor Store

Fire Water Fuel received a building permit from the city to move into the empty store on Kent Road.

The former liquor store at the 3200 block of Kent Road will be filled with a new business called Fire Water Fuel

No, not the boozy kind of Firewater despite the building's former use as the Stow Beverage & State Liquor store. This company is trying to return to the source of regenerative energy thinking for a sustainable future, according to its website. Read more about what the company does here

The 3,500-square-foot space near Pancho and Lefty's has been empty for just less than a year, according to Rob Kurtz, the city's planning director.

He said the zoning certificate for a change of occupancy was issued June 15 at 3274 Kent Rd. for a sales office for the Fire Water Fuel.

"I don't know the status of any building renovation," he said, adding the building is zoned for community retail.

How do you feel about a new company moving into the mostly run down building?

I think its great that are going to repurpose the building rather than rebuild. Also sounds like a great plan best of luck to them.

Depends, Is it "pretty" or is it "rundown"?

any idea what happened to the liquor store anyway? one day it was just closed and eventually left. always had great business in there, lots of customers.

as far as renovations...yea that place was a dump, with water always leaking in and a musty smell. ugh. so they have a job on their hands, fixing it up. but it's cool to see that they're not just demo-ing it and rebuilding; seems in line with the company's focus too, no?
