Lottery Ticket Thief Not So Lucky
The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A 21-year-old Lake Run Boulevard man was arrested by police after he was observed taking lottery tickets from the BP gas station on Graham Road, according to a police report.
Officers said they watched surveillance video of the man taking the scratch off tickets from behind the counter July 5 around 7:56 a.m. without paying for them.
According to the report, the man had a tattoo that said “Carpe Diem” on his arm. Police ended up seizing him instead of the man seizing the day.
A total of $24 in lottery tickets was stolen.
Theft, in this situation, is a first-degree misdemeanor.
