Through the city's aggregation program with Vectren Source, natural gas users can get a fixed rate of $5.58 per Mcf rate from November through March 2012.

Residents and businesses currently using Vectren will receive notice of the rate change. Both newly eligible or those who wish to opt out of the city's program will receive a letter in the mail on or around Oct. 22 with instructions and contact information.

There is a 21-day period to opt out of or to enroll in the program.

"We're pleased to continue serving the residents of Stow," said Tami Wilson, president of Vectren Source. "We also know this is a busy time of year for residents having to make natural gas choices."

"We are pleased to have been able to strike this low rate for our residents and businesses," said Mayor Karen Fritschel. "The $5.58 per Mcf rate compares very favorably to what residents can obtain on their own at this time."
