New Location, New Services for Job Club
Find out where the Stow Community Job Club is operating now.
The Stow Community Job Club is now neighbors with the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce in the Stratford Building.
The group was meeting at the Stow Community United Church of Christ for two years, but when Mark and Sharlene Chesnes, owners of the Stratford Place and InterChez Properties, LLC, offered a 350-square-foot office with a meeting room as an in-kind donation for one year, the group couldn't pass up the offer.
The office officially opened and had it's first job seekers’ workshop of the year on Jan. 12.
“We’d never be where we are today, without the tremendous support of our volunteers and the community,” Job Club Founder and Executive Director Diana Miller said.
With the additional space, Miller said she can offer even more job-seeking services.
Currently, two free workshops are offered on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month that address a range of job search topics such as resume development, cover letter writing, effective networking, interview preparation, salary negotiation and many other related subjects.
In the future, Miller said she would like to offer additional services on a sliding fee scale to allow for more in-depth, one-on-one consultations as well as a structured curriculum for small groups known as Job Search U.
