Officers Will Carry Torch for the Special Olympics Wednesday

The annual Torch Run will take place June 20.

Usually they are running after the bad guys, but next week you'll see Stow Police officers running down the street to raise money for the Special Olympics during the 2012 Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Police Sgt. Steve Dunton said he and some officers will be running down Darrow Road around 1:20 p.m. June 20.

The officers are set to receive the hand-off from Hudson's officers at the Darrow Road and Norton Road intersection. The torch will be carried south on Darrow toward the Munroe Falls border at Adell Durbin Park where it will be handed off to law enforcement from Tallmadge and Munroe Falls.

"Come out and show your support," Dunton said.

Can't make it to the event, but want to support the police department and the Special Olympics? Donations may be made at City Hall with Vicki Huff or at the Safety Center with Deb Berkey.
