Oscar Nominations: What Surprised You? (POLL)

"Lincoln" leads the pack with 12 Academy Award nominations

This year's Academy Awards nominations were announced Thursday morning.

While Lincoln leading the way with 12 nominations -- including Best Picture, Best Director for Steven Spielberg, Best Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis, Best Supporting Actress for Sally Field and Best Supporting Actor for Tommy Lee Jones -- wasn't a huge surprise, there are always some surprises when the nominees are named.

One of the surprises this year is that directors of three big films -- Kathryn Bigelow of Zero Dark Thirty, Ben Affleck of Argo and Quentin Tarantino of Django Unchained -- did not receive nominations for Best Director.

What surprised you in the Oscar nominations? Take our poll and share your picks and predictions in the comments.
