Our Neighbors Are Getting Michael Symon's B Spot, Among Other Restaurants
Who plans on crossing Patch lines to eat at these new restaurants in the Falls?
After Stow just discussed what restaurants were missing from our town, Cuyahoga Falls had to go and secure four new places to eat for the Portage Crossing Development next door to us.
But, at least two of them are already in Stow — Chipotle and Panera Bread.
The two newbies in the Falls will be Michael Symon's B Spot and Menchie's Frozen Yogurt.
On Thursday, Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Robart also announced a 92,000-square-foot Giant Eagle and Pet Supplies Plus will be going into that plaza. (But, we've got those in Stow already too!)
Symon’s popular joint, with locations in Strongsville, Westlake and Beachwood, will feature gourmet burgers and brats and a one-of-a-kind lineup of draft beers.
“These six retailers represent approximately 26 percent of the total retail project," said Robart in a prepared statement released on Thursday. "We are very close to finalizing an agreement with yet another major retailer, which will be more than double the size of the Giant Eagle store.”
The 400,000-square-foot, $60 million retail space, which will be located on a 28-acre parcel off State Road and Portage Trail, is set to break ground this June, said Robert Stark, President and Chief Executive Officer of Stark Enterprises.
“All of these announced establishments share our vision of what the marketplace will become – bustling streets filled with the most popular national and regional retailers and dining establishments,” he stated. “This is only the beginning of many exciting announcements yet to come.”
Be honest, are you jealous or are you just going to go to the Falls when the project is complete?

Wouldn't the "new" Giant Eagle then be right around the corner from the Giant Eagle on Graham Rd? Will that one be closing after the new one opens?

I'm assuming the Graham Road GE will close and move.

IIRC, I believe this Giant Eagle will be a "concept"-like store, unlike any of the other stores in the Northeast Ohio area, and is similar to what they have in the Pittsburgh area, where their HQ is located.

And it'll be $$$ the taxpayers will MORE than make back once the center is up and running -- and at full capacity. Which State Rd Shopping Center wasn't for decades. In fact, from what I understand, many of the long-vacant storefronts had been suffering from structural problems.
But don't let facts get in the way of taxpayer's clueless whining.

I don't understand. Did the Falls tear down the shopping center so they can build a shopping center ?

Ed F.,
Yes, they tore down a shoping center nobody went to (Montgomery Wards) (who?) and are building one people might actually use. Not the greatest plan but not the worst either.

How can you apply for the jobs? That will be in the plaza.
