Police Blotter: Man Threatens to Blow Up Stow PD

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Making a Terrorist Threat

  • A woman phoned the Stow Police Department on Wednesday to report a man who had just called and harassed her. She gave police the man’s number, but did not identify herself. When an officer called the number, a man picked up, claimed he was with Al-Qaeda, threatened to kill the woman and said he was going to blow up the police station. Given the gravity of the threats, the department called the FBI who will now assist in the investigation.

Theft

  • Dimont and Associates informed the police on Wednesday that several appliances and a heating and air conditioning system were stolen from a foreclosed house that the company owns at 3803 Kay Dr. Employees at Dimont believe the thieves most likely stole the items from the empty house sometime in mid-July.
  • An unknown number of people stole a John Deere Gator from on Tuesday night. The keys were not with the vehicle which had been donated to the City of Stow for temporary use.
