Police Blotter: Walmart, Kohl's Bust Shoplifters
The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
arrested several people last week in connection with the following shoplifting incidents reported by and :
- An Akron man, 39, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft on March 12 after walking out of Walmart without paying for an LG Blu-ray Disc Player valued at $78. The incident was reported by a store employee at 6:16 p.m. that day.
- A securty agent at Kohl's called police at 11:28 a.m. March 13 to report that a suspect "concealed $234 worth of clothing on her person" and attempted to leave the store without paying for it. An 18-year-old Kent woman was arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft.
- A Walmart loss prevention employee called police at 1:05 p.m. March 13 to report that two Parkersburg, WV, women had left the store without paying for a Sanyo 42-inch TV valued at $448, a Blu-ray player valued at $128, a Blu-ray disc valued at $15 and two pair of Danskin shoes with a combined value of $25. Arrested were a 27-year-old woman who was charged with theft and criminal trespassing, both misdemeanors, and a 22-year-old who was charged with complicity to theft, also a misdemeanor.
