Police Find Bath Salts, Weapons in Illegally Parked Car

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Someone called the Stow Police Department when they noticed a car was parked on the wrong side of the street in front of a fire hydrant at the 1300 block of Arndale Road July 3.

There were two men inside of the car, an 18- and 19-year-old both from Stow, and according to police they “gave irrational statements" about why they were there.

The K9 dog was called in and indicated there was something in the 2008 gold Toyota Camry.

During a search of the vehicle, police said they found numerous contraband items including several weapons (brass knuckles, an air soft handgun and a black knife), several pieces of drug paraphernalia (a marijuana grinder, marijuana pipes, rolling papers), a flask of alcohol and a crystal substance which tested positive for bath salts.

Posession of drugs, is a fifth-degree felony, in this situation. Having drug paraphernalia is a fourth-degree misdemeanor, illegal parking is a minor-misdemeanor and prohibitions under 21 is a first-degree misdemeanor in this situation.

The two men were both released on a personal recognizance bond.
