Police Find Gun at Stow Playground

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

On Oct. 12, Stow Police officers were dispatched to S.O.A.R. playground for a report of four suspicious males around 10 p.m.

When officers arrived, they interviewed the four men and then found a five-cylinder revolver on the ground near where the men were standing in the park, according to the report.

The weapon was picked up by an officer and placed into property.

Police have a serial number for the weapon and are investigating who it belongs to.

On Oct. 26, the same playground was vandalized. Police said they went to Silver Springs Park and saw the playground equipment had black and white spraypaint all over it

That's just lovely. A month ago I was dropping off my daughter at her elementary school and a school employee was walking with a piece of drug paraphernalia that she had just found on the playground. I wonder if they every reported it. Can the police step up the patrolling please?

Can people like you actually read the article before whining about the police "stepping up" patrolling every little space in Stow?

Oh, you will? That would be great.

But, since you failed to read it, it clearly said that these people were there at 10pm. And that police responded to a report of these said suspicious people there. So, everything worked out here. Except for these 4 fools.

I certainly hope to hear more about this! The finding of a gun in the immediate vicinity of the youths is an instant alarm. I am sure there are finger prints on this weapon and hopefully were filed correctly. And it is very apparent the weapon was stolen! This city needs to set some strong examples for any youth that thinks this is acceptable. My kids go to that park during their ventures out, away from the television and video games. We need to keep this a safe community!

The community as a whole needs to support our local law enforcement by reporting ANY suspicious activity. A false lead is no big deal; however, any lead that could deter/solve any crime is invaluable.
