Officers were dispatched to the area of Stonebridge Crossing Oct. 17 for a report of suspicious subjects running around a newly vacant home, in which the previous owner had passed away.
When officers arrived they said they saw a tan 2002 Chevy Tahoe parked in front of 2165 Stonebridge Xing. Police said the inside of the windows were covered with smoke.
Four juveniles and two adults were found to be smoking marijuana, according to the report. Three of the juveniles were released at the scene to their parents. One teen was unable to contact his guardian and he was transported to the Stow Police Department where he was later released. The teens were from Hudson, Silver Lake and Stow.
The teen said he did not drink, but officers said the odor of alcoholic beverages was on his breath and his eyes were "red and glassy."
One adult, 18 from Akron, admitted to drinking four to five shots of liquor and smoking marijuana, according to police. The other 18-year-old from Richfield admitted to drinking a few beers, police said.
Drug abuse is a minor misdemeanor in this situation and prohibitions under 21 is a first-degree misdemeanor. The youth cases are being handled by Stow Youth Services.
