Popular Band Performing Free Concert at Summer Sunset Blast (VIDEO)
The city expects a crowd of 15,000 because of the band this year.
The city's Summer Sunset Blast during Labor Day weekend is always a big hit with thousands in attendance, but this year, thanks to a free show by Gypsies in the Palace, administrators think the crowd will triple.
Gypsies in the Palace is a Jimmy Buffett cover band with artists all from Northeast Ohio.
"We're really grateful they offered to do the concert for free," said Mayor Sara Drew. "It's going to be one of the best Summer Sunset Blasts ever."
Community Information Coordinator Linda Nahrstedt said usually there are about 5,000+ people who attend the event at Silver Springs Park.
This year, because of Gypsies in the Palace playing a show Sept. 1, she thinks the crowd will triple to about 15,000.
The band has played a show before at the Blast in 2009 and Nahrstedt said it was "the year we ran out of beer."
