Frederick, 24, of Streetsboro, was arrested June 8 for the alleged rape of a Falls child. He's being held in Summit County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
Richard Frederick Jr., 24, of Streetsboro, said he’s not guilty of the multiple sexual assault charges that have been filed against him, according to his lawyer.
“(Richard) Frederick has entered a plea of not guilty to all of the charges that have been filed against him,” said Frederick’s attorney, Scott Rilley. “He has agreed and consented to the matter being bound over to the Summit County Grand Jury for its determination. That process is usually about a four-week process. If the grand jury indicts him, then he will maintain his not guilty plea down in the Summit County Court of Common Pleas in Akron.”
The move toward the grand jury came after Rilley waived a preliminary hearing scheduled for this past Wednesday in Stow Municipal Court.
Frederick, was arrested June 8 following an investigation conducted by the Falls Police Department for the alleged rape of a victim under the age of 13. He was charged with rape, a first-degree felony; gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony; and sexual battery, a third-degree felony.
If found guilty of the alleged sexual assault, Frederick could face up to a life sentence in prison.
