Richest, Poorest Neighborhoods in Stow

Some Stow residents may — or may not — be surprised to learn that the Sherwood Acres neighborhood is the community's wealthiest are by household income, according to according to U.S. Census information.

The information comes from a website called richblockspoorblocks.com, which offers median household income for each census tract, provided by the 2007-2011 American Community Survey.

Median household income is $93,000 in the area bordered by Call, Fishcreek, Newcomer and Graham roads.

Stow's poorest neighborhoods are not far away.

The area of Stow with the lowest median household income, $51,474, is the are bordered by Edgewood Drive, Graham, Kent and Newcomer roads.

To see your neighborhood's income, click this link to check the website. Choose Ohio from the drop-down menu, and type Stow into the search field, or type in a specific address.

Class it up Patch! Found this to be pretty tasteless. What's the point? To divide a community? To make people feel better or worse for themselves? To warn people where the "poor" people live? Pretty sure everyone is well aware of their neighborhoods without you pointing out the "richest" and "poorest".

This is a tasteless article! I have family that live in both areas and they are all disgusted that this information is being made into a "story". There's no story here. Good people, morally wealthy people, live in both places!
