Stow Sentry Endorses Stow-Munroe Falls Renewal Levy: Good Choice? (POLL)

The weekly print paper is suggesting residents vote "for" a 7.84-mill 10-year operating levy.

The Stow Sentry endorsed Issue 67 on Sunday.

The paper stated since the Stow-Munroe Falls School District was once again rated "Excellent" in the state report card, the operating money is necessary to maintain that standard.

Of course the Stow Sentry endorsed the levy. How would it look if the local paper didn't endorse more money being pumped into the community? But I don't think the endorsement or the continued Excellent rating is going to sway most people. The school sold out my youngest sons education two years ago when it sold the pre-school program to the county. That will be fresh on my mind next week when I go to the polls. Add that to the corrupt principal being allowed to retire instead of being fired and I'm over it. We need changes to the board before we hand them more money squander.

I would hope that this community REMEMBERS what we were told last November on the NEW MONEY renewal. Did it cost you what they said???How much did your taxes go up??? How much did your mortgage go up??? Devaluation of your property and for TEN YEARS, when we will be reassessed 3 times in this 10 year period and the millage will be possibly changed every year to collect this dollar amount. REALLY, can we trust this administrations word with all that has been going on in this district recently?? What about all the wasted money on the bus garage and the storage facility?? OH I forgot it's only money from us the taxpayers

My concern is that the renewal levy is for 10 yrs. I would be more willing to vote for a 3 or 5 yr renewal. This is not the only levy people. There are more coming they just want you to forget.

Jan Steuart is spot on,
This is a NEW TAX!!! It is for 10 years. I for one will be voting to keep this school board, administration and teachers union on the shortest, most citizen accountable leash that I can. And yes I chose the term LEASH.

Everything Jeanne Fencl posts is bonkers. She's the bitter lady that always bickers about something. Hahahaha.

Frank, can you tell me what is "bonkers" with posting links, to stories that Patch reported on? I am not bitter at all. In fact I am very content with my life. I can not help it if the ones saying we were limping along, to get a levy passed by telling what will be taken away from the students of this fine district, are getting raises and new contracts. It was also stated that the CFO will make $94,524 annually and will receive 30 paid vacation days a year. Bulgrin's new contract begins Aug. 1 and expires July 31, 2016. When her W-2 states that she actually made over 120,000.00. So some may think this is bitter, I call it putting the corrected information out, so those that have no idea, what the correct information is, can decide on their own. Thanks for calling me a lady, I do appreciate that :)

What would a Blog about the Stow Levy be without a bunch of garbage from James Thomas, Bulldog and Jeanne Fencl. Negative attitudes about leadership within the community is not something that is new, but the way you dig and stretch things in your favor is not even close! I hope this Levy passes and I hope you have a nice weekend. It sounds like you all need a vacation from your miserable lives.

Oh Mike, I am not miserable. I have a great outlook on life. In fact, I have been very concerned about the wonderful students of this district, that deserve responsible, accountable and complete honesty, when it comes to their education. We have a dedicated staff and a great district. If it makes those feel better, to tell people to leave, move or call names at those that are very concerned about the future of the students in this district, then good for them. But this is just another sign of being a bully, and that has been a problem for anyone that has dared questioned anything connected to the administration or decisions made on behalf of the children of the district. One may ask, are any of those, that are being a bully, connected to anyone at the administrative level? Do they continue to be a bully to those raising questions and concerns? Should one question the fictional names, used on here? Are those the ones in charge or know those in charge very well, responsible for the education of the students in this district? Now are those some of the most disturbing questions raised?

Dissent is the Highest form of Patriotism.
Mr. Plum,
"What would a Blog about the Stow Levy be without a bunch of garbage from James Thomas, Bulldog and Jeanne." It would be a Blog with No Dissent. That's exactly what Progressive Democrats and the Teacher's Union want. If you believe in the concept that "Dissent is the HIGHEST FORM OF PATRIOTISM" why do you, personally denigrate it?

Mr. Guernsey, Mr. Plum, Mr. Gofflinger,
Any response?

I do not think it should pass if only on the basis of a vote of “no confidence” in the current board and superintendent. If only for allowing a principal to retire with benefits when she should have been fired for fraud. My life is very good and I am very happy but your comments are not surprising. As unfounded personal observations and comments are simply nothing more than the last bastion of a person who has nothing of value to add to the discussion. We have 300+ fewer students in the district than we did when this expiring levy was passed. There is no reason it should be for an amount remotely similar. Those are the facts Mike. Now, please have a nice weekend and try and not call the comments of other people who disagree with you “garbage.”
