Tabled Redmon Crematorium Ordinance Comes Back for Vote Tonight

Council meets at 5:30 p.m.

Redmon Funeral Home wants to add a crematorium to its list of services but before it can do so, Stow City Council must pass an ordinance allowing them in city funeral homes.

City Council was set to vote on the ordinance at the Dec. 13 meeting, but the ordinance was tabled. It comes before council again at tonight's meeting, which starts at 5:30 at City Hall.

Over the last several months, residents have stood and voiced their opposition to the plan, saying the crematorium could present potential health risks to those who live in close proximity to the funeral parlor, located at 3633 Darrow Rd.
