Truck Catches Fire on S.R. 8 Thursday Night, No One Hurt

The incident shut down the state route Thursday evening around 9:30 p.m.

A load of wood on the back of a Ford F-150 caught fire Thursday evening on State Route 8, closing the road for about an hour, according to police.

No one was hurt and the occupants of the truck were out of the car and on scene when the police and fire departments arrived.

Police Lt. Anne Stirm said officers were called to assist the fire department and control traffic.

State Route 8 was closed at 9:48 pm and officers cleared the scene at 10:30 p.m., said Stirm.

"This was a vehicle fire with no criminal conduct associated with the fire," she said.

Stow Patch requested information from the fire department. Be sure to check back today for an update.
