Video: Stow's Speech Coach Selected to be in the Ohio Hall of Fame
Stow-Munroe Falls Speech Coach Sue Theisen was recognized by the Board of Education for her recent induction into the Ohio Hall of Fame.
Stow-Munroe Falls High School Speech and Debate Team Coach Sue Theisen is one of two coaches to be chosen to be in the Ohio High School Speech League's Coaches' Hall of Fame this year.
The Stow-Munroe Falls Board of Education recognized Theisen during its Feb. 14 meeting at Indian Trail Elementary.
"I'm very proud of our speech and debate team," said Superintendent Dr. Russ Jones. "Sue Theisen was elected by her peers for this honor."
Theisen has about 17 years of Speech and Debate Team experience in Stow and will be officially honored before the speech tournament at Whitmer High School in Toledo March 4.
"I can't tell you how proud and pleased I am, that Stow gave me the opportunity to coach some of the greatest students I have ever met in my life," said Theisen. "I may be recognized, but I am only recognized because of the students ... the students do all of the work."
There are 76 students on the high school team.
The next speech and debate event, the 2011 Eastern Ohio National Forensic League District Tournament (BIGS) for nationals, is at the high school, 3227 Graham Rd. Feb. 18 at 3:30 p.m. and Feb. 19 at 7 a.m.
