Want to Know How Stow-Munroe Falls Did on the State Report Cards? You’ll Have to Wait
The state Board of Education is holding off on the release of the report cards until an investigation is complete.
The release of Ohio’s school report cards will continue to be delayed while the state auditor investigates whether some districts manipulated attendance data.
The state Board of Education on Tuesday decided to release some of the information to the public around the end of September, Ohio Department of Education Associate Director of Communications John Charlton said in an email. The data will not include attendance rates, performance index or overall ratings, and the board has not set a date to release the full report cards at this time.
That means that Stow-Munroe Falls parents won’t know if their local school is still rated as “Excellent,” “Effective” or the like until much later in the school year.
The ratings are usually released at the end of August. Last year, the Stow-Munroe Falls School District earned the state's rating of "excellent."
According to StateImpact Ohio, the auditor’s investigation could continue into 2013. The Columbus Dispatch has more on the scandal and the board members’ reasoning behind the limited data release.

Jiim -- No --- it all started in the Columbus schools with an allegation that school staff altered attendance records so potentially low scoring students would be excluded from test score averages. There are a number of well written articles about it.

Attendance records! They -- various schools -- altered attendance records. I am not sure what kids you are referring to but I have worked with, helped, coached and mentored a very large number of very bright, well rounded and capable young adults. Unfortunately it seems like many -- certainly not all --- parents are the disconnected, bitter, unhappy and in general anti-social soles who could be called Debbie and Donnie Downer. Or as you said -- morons!!!
