A 25-year veteran teacher can no longer say "I never win anything" after she was surprised by Office Max in Stow with a new desk chair and $1,000 in school supplies from the local chain supply store.
Some of the items 5th grade Lakeview Intermediate teacher Nancy Beres received: drawer organizers, paper, tissues, hand sanitizer, pens, markers and a laminator.
Principal Andy Yanchunas nominated Beres through the Office Max Day Made Better program. He said he told the students earlier in the year that they were fortunate to have Beres and co-teacher Mrs. Eddy.
"Nominating her was his way of thanking her for all she does," Yanchunas said. “She always comes in and does what is right and best for her students day in and day out.”
Thanks to Assistant Principal Mary Lou Muckleroy for sharing the video.
