Sara, thank you for all of the fluff letters on this site. Seriously. They are a great service to our community. We all know that you just write all of these so you can get your photo on the site and gain more recognition for the upcoming election. It's pathetic. Maybe step out from behind the current mayor and have an original opinion about something. Please don't become our next mayor. Our city deserves so much more.

I am always amazed at all the charity work that Gavin Scott does. I have a business right by them and see all the good they do for the community. Glad to call them neighbors.

Good grief, people. Please go back and READ the article. It is about the Gavin Scott Salon and Spa, and the good work that they do to support the community that we live in. I'm sorry to see that the majority of you used this as a forum to discuss a completely different subject, and detract from the original intent of the article which was to discuss the amazing things that the girls at the salon do to help others. Gavin Scott, I thank you for what you do for me and my hair AND for the community. Shame on those of you who sucked the joy out of this for the salon.

Basha, received you post, unfortunately I am in Michigan and in frugal retirement. You idea is to help moms is teriffic, maybe you could expand it in the future to help grandmas and grandpas living alone who may have just returned from the hospital and could use a little help with small chores. Here in Royal Oak Michigan our senior center has a program partially funded by the local hospital called Roses. Just a thought. And good luck with your program that I sure will be a success.

Peek-A-Boo Baby is a Drop in Care facility helping Moms who need childcare while searching for work, going to a class, a doctors appointment, running an errand or spending time with their spouse.

We provide safe, secure, CLEAN child care for our local community. We also offer Scholarships for military families who have a spouse looking for work or whose husband is deployed.

There are currently NO other drop in/temporary care or relief centers in the Bay Area.

Every Parent deserves a break this is why we are open 6 days a week Monday thru Saturday!

I think that Mayor Drew is showing her compassion for her city and for all those wonderful people & businesses who are doing so much to help people during a difficult economic time. Gavin Scott Salon & Spa are to be congratulated for their caring, selflessness & kindness. Let's just appreciate the message that the Mayor is trying to deliver of the kindness of others. We can all use a little kindness.
