Landscape companies in Stow report thefts right from their mowing trailers
Two area landscape companies were robbed of thousands of dollars in equipment recently while working in Stow. An employee of O'Bryan's Grounds Maintenance, based in Stow, told police that someone stole a commercial lawn mower right off the company trailer while workers mowed a Stow business. The employee told police the theft happened while they were mowing the entrance to King's Mill Boulevard on Thursday. Someone actually moved a lawn mower off the trailer to get access to a Wright zero-turn lawn mower, which was then stolen right from the equipment trailer, according to police. The 2007-model mower is valued at $10,000. Another firm, HD Property Preservation out of Rittman, OH, told Stow Police that someone stole a gas trimmer right …

Site prep work starts at Graham Road location
Work has started on the new Panera Bread planned on Graham Road at the former Big Boy location. Site prep work is under way this week for the new 8,823-square-foot Panera. It will stand at 1063 Graham Road, where the long vacant Big Boy restaurant was demolished in November. In December, Stow City Council unanimously approved plans for the second Panera Bread location. The eatery already has a restaurant on Kent Road. Signs that were installed last month at the site have since been removed.

Republic Waste Services workers reportedly on sympathy strike for landfill workers
Stow residents who are customers of Republic Waste Services may see further delays in their trash pick-up due to striking garbage workers. Many Stow customers of Republic Waste saw at least one-day delays in their pick-up last week, as the refuse hauler is dealing with a strike that is affecting several of its operations. A sympathy strike for the company's Youngstown location caused delays and even a work stoppage in some Northeast Ohio communities, our news partner at WEWS Channel 5 reports. Stow Mayor Sara Drew said Republic officials told the city that pick-up will be delayed, but they promised all service would continue despite the strike. "We don’t have a contract with Republic, Kimble is our preferred hauler, so there isn’t much we …
