Unfortunately, it wasn't birds attacking the patio on Kent Road, but a report of someone smearing feces on a window and a table July 1. A Kent Road resident told Stow Police that someone smeared feces on a sliding glass window and a glass patio table with a leaf. Two days later, another Kent Road resident told police that feces was smeared on her car's windshield.   Disorderly conduct is a minor-misdemeanor and criminal mischief is a third-degree misdemeanor.
It was a sight for sore eyes at the Davis Eye Center June 30. An administrator at Davis Eye Center told police a lewd picture and offensive language was drawn on the building. Stow Police said the substance used to do the drawing of a man's genitalia and the profane words were oil-based. The employee also told police that male genitalia was drawn on the sidewalk of the business about two weeks prior. Damage is not known at this time. Criminal mischief is a third-degree misdemeanor.
Stow Police went to Discount Drug Mark on Fishcreek Road June 25 because an employee suspected a woman shopping at the store was shoplifting and intoxicated. The 37-year-old woman took Seabond and earrings, valued at about $20 total. The woman was issued a summons to go to Stow Municipal Court. Theft, in this situation, is a first-degree misdemeanor. In other police news: A 13-year-old female and 17-year-old male were found behind McDonald's after curfew June 26. Police found condoms on the male, who turns 18 next week, and advised him that having sex with a minor has legal repercussions. …
A Danforth Reserve man reported to police that about $2,500 in jewelry was taken from his home June 20. The four rings stolen were stored in a box in his bedroom. A wedding band, valued at $750, was the most expensive item taken. Theft, in this situation, is a fifth-degree felony. In other police news: A Maribend Drive man told police his lawn ornament was taken from his front yard June 24. The ornament was a purple bowling ball covered in translucent multi-colored glass ovals. The ornament is valued at $25. Stow Police said a teen was behind Echo Hills Elementary with an air gun and a beer June 25.  Police took the air gun and pellets, but not before another juvenile said she shot the gun at him. No injuries were reported. The case is being handled by Stow Youth Services. The offense is a fourth-degree misdemeanor.  Police also responded to a another complaint of two people shooting air guns in a wooded area June 22 around 5:30 p.m. by Robinwood Apartments.
Five men broke out into a fight June 22 at a home on Maplewood Drive around 2:30 a.m., according to Stow Police. Fighting is a minor-misdemeanor. All five men (from Stow, Alliance and Brookfield) were issued citations and ordered to go to Stow Municipal Court June 27. In other police news: A Tallmadge woman reported to police that her registration stickers were taken off of her car June 21 while parked on Echo Valley Drive. Stow Police responded to a call about four people jumping around on the roof at Lakeview Intermediate School June 17 around 8 p.m. When police arrived, they saw four people walking in the parking lot and asked if they were on the roof of the school. The suspects said they were up on the roof practicing martial arts and jumping from one section of the roof to another. The group said they climbed up an exterior wall onto the roof and said they weren’t aware it was illegal, according to the report. The school was notified. Three auto shops in Stow were broken into the same way, cash was stolen and at one business a car was taken June 20. In all three incidents, the suspects entered the businesses through a pried open garage door panel. The first break-in happened around 9 a.m. June 20 at Leipold Tire on Darrow Road. The owner told Stow Police that the panel on the garage door was opened and $150 in cash was stolen. Keys that were left in the night drop box were also taken, said police. The suspects got away with a 2007 black and silver Ford Escape, which was dropped off for repairs, according to the report. …
Last night Stow police officers found seven Cuyahoga Falls teens behind Sears Hardware with flashlights, pry bars and screwdrivers. According to police, the youths were playing in an unauthorized area where a large cement pipe was behind the closed hardware store. One teen gave an officer consent to search his bag, where police found two pry bars and three packs of cigarettes. Two pry bars were also lying near the pipe. The teens did not give an explanation as to why they had the tools, said police. The seven youths were warned for criminal tools and mischief and the case is being handled by …
Two homes were egged on the same day and same street June 13: An Arndale Road resident told Stow Police his house was egged overnight June 13. The resident said a few months prior his home was toilet papered.  Another Arndale Road resident, about a block away, reported his house was also egged overnight June 13. Criminal mischief is a third-degree misdemeanor in both situations. "These thefts from motor vehicles are unfortunately not uncommon and they usually occur in clusters," Stow Police Chief Louis Dirker previously said. "People often leave their cars unlocked and they invite thefts by leaving articles in plain sight inside the vehicles. Citizens should lock their vehicles, even in their driveways, and place articles in the trunk of the car if they want to leave them in the vehicle." A Garfield Heights man was arrested and charged for drunk driving after crashing into a tree with his four-year-old daughter in the car June 12. Abram Brandon Russell Stransky, 23, was charged for child endangerment, an OVI, criminal mischief, a hit-skip and failure to control — all misdemeanor charges. Stransky refused a breathalyzer test, according to Stow Police. Officers responded to a call about an accident on Mac Drive at 3:36 a.m. Stransky’s car hit a tree so hard that it was uprooted and the front end of his car was totaled. A woman went into R.S.V.P. Party Supply Outlet June 6 and when she left the store and went back to her car, she noticed two hubcaps were missing. The woman reported to police that she saw a group of young male adults in a truck and claims she saw two hubcaps inside. The factory hubcaps for a Honda are valued at $100. Theft is a first-degree misdemeanor in this situation. On June 7 a Port Charles Drive resident reported to police that his car was egged while it was parked in his driveway. A Stow-Munroe Falls High School student sent his teacher a “vulgar email” that was “sexual in nature,” according to a Stow Youth Services referral. The teacher alerted Stow Police of the email, which is considered to be telecommunication harassment. No arrest was made.  A Kingsdale Drive resident reported June 7 his son had taken an autographed football helmet and pawned it for $80 in Kent. When confronted by police, the teen said he needed money to buy shoes and clothes for his job. The Stow Police Department was called to responded to a few separate fights in Stow recently. On May 13 a Stow-Munroe Falls High School senior reported to Stow Police that another female student pulled her hair, pushed her and then punched her in the face on school grounds. Disorderly conduct, in this situation, is a fourth-degree misdemeanor.  Two Stow-Munroe Falls High School teens traded insults on Facebook and arranged to fight May 25 on the practice football field, according to the report. A Stow Municipal Court officer reported May 16 that a woman dressed in a police shirt with badges and patches was at the court house. When asked who she was, she identified herself to the court officer as an auxiliary police officer. Impersonating a peace officer is a fourth-degree misdemeanor. A Bath and Body Works employee reported to Stow Police that on May 14, a group of about 12 people came into the store while she was working alone and took about $1,000 in products. The report states the employee said she believed some of the individuals were keeping her busy while others were taking 26 bottles of body spray (valued at $29.50 each) and two bags full of multiple products (valued at $110 each). A youth was charged with assault April 29 for punching another youth in the face several times, according to Stow Police.  The 16-year-old victim reported to police that he was on the hike and bike trail behind the 3000 block of Graham Road when the fight happened. A You Tube video of the incident was watched by police for the investigation and then taken off the website. The fight allegedly started because one teen made remarks about the other teen’s friend who passed away. Assault, in this situation, is a minor-misdemeanor. A Kent woman was arrested May 2 at the Stow Municipal Court after swearing in Judge Kim Hoover’s court room. The 21-year-old woman was charged with disturbing a lawful meeting and disorderly conduct, both fourth-degree misdemeanors. According to the Stow Police report, the woman was at the court house for a video arraignment of her boyfriend. After bond was set, the Kent woman talked to the judge about getting her boyfriend out of jail. The judge explained that paying bond was the only way to be released. Apparently, the person who stole from a Darrow Road man didn’t have the same taste in movies and music as the victim. A Darrow Road resident reported to Stow Police his unlocked car was opened and a $200 GPS system was taken, as well as $15 in cash. However, the CDs and DVDs in the victim’s car were not taken, but collected and placed in the glove box of the car.
