2013 begins with new AMATS leadership

The Policy Committee of the Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study (AMATS), the Greater Akron area's metropolitan planning organization, will have new leadership in 2013.

Connie Krauss, the director of the Summit County Department of Community and Economic Development, will be the 2013 chairwoman of the Policy Committee of the Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study (AMATS).

The Policy Committee is composed of 45 officials representing local municipalities, counties, transit agencies, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.  It is responsible for deciding how federal transportation funds are spent in the Greater Akron area.  Tallmadge Mayor David Kline will serve as vice-chairman.

Krauss and Kline’s one-year terms will commence in January.  They were elected during the committee’s December meeting.
