Preparing a statewide vision - Access Ohio 2040

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) needs your help.  The department is preparing Access Ohio 2040, the state’s long-range transportation plan, and has launched an ambitious public outreach effort.

The plan – also known as AO40 - will identify long-reaching priorities and solutions for Ohio’s transportation infrastructure to the year 2040.  With AO40, the department aims to present a sustainable vision for the state’s transportation system by balancing social, environmental and economic needs.

Because the department recognizes the need for public insight in crafting AO40, it has set up two web sites – access.ohio.gov and accessohio2040.com.  Access.ohio.gov features an online Customer Preference Survey to help the department identify the transportation issues that are important to Ohioans.  If you are interested in taking this survey, please click here.  Accessohio2040.com is a more social media-oriented site and invites participants to join the AO40 community.

The Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study (AMATS) is one of the department’s partners in developing Access Ohio 2040.  The agency is serving as an informational outpost where visitors may view the latest materials related to the development of the plan.  The AMATS office is located at 806 CitiCenter, 146 South High Street in downtown Akron
