All in a Stow Weekend!

This weekend, our family experienced much of what Stow has to offer!

For someone who is naturally unsocial, the weekend I just had with my family was jam-packed with fun, social activities all around Stow!

When I reflect back on the weekend, it makes me thankful for a city that has something to offer for everyone! Whether it is entertainment, dining, recreation, networking or community building ... STOW has it all!

Check it out ... our weekend in a nutshell, albeit a big nutshell.

Our children have been involved in the Stow Soccer Club for the past eight years, and this past Friday night, on June 24, the club had its first Summer Picnic at .

The night began with inflatables and a climbing wall from Fun Services, included pizza and other goodies from Bellacino's, and all who attended had a blast watching the coaches versus coaches game, where 30 of the club's coaches did their best to not pull a hamstring or break a bone, while battling one another on the pitch.

The evening truly was a blast, and we are so thankful for such an awesome parent volunteer group that spends so much of their own time organizing and coaching the youth of Stow, as they truly prepare the children for the bigger things in life ... like winning, losing, teamwork and good sportsmanship.

If you are looking for a way to get your children involved in a sport this upcoming fall, look no further than the Stow Soccer Club. Now is the time to complete the registration process!

After the picnic, we hooked up with some friends for dinner at the new Beef 'O'Brady's and even headed to  to check into getting me a nose ring, but that is for another post.

Matt, my husband, then woke up on Saturday morning, donned his construction neon yellow t-shirt, he grabbed some trash bags, and then helped to clean up our city streets through

Hands On Stow is an organization that was actually co-founded by my husband and Tom McKinney, from  . The organization focuses on keeping the city of Stow clean! It is as simple as that.

Hands on Stow recruits residents and businesses to team up three times a year on Saturday mornings to literally walk up and down the main thoroughfares of Stow collecting trash (and lots of it!) that has been left on the side of the road. This past Saturday, more than 100 volunteers participated!

Back in the neighborhood on Saturday evening, our kids participated in the annual Call's Farm Independence Day Parade, which was followed by an overnight camp-out on the community green which is in the center of the development.

Matt and I then headed up to The Quickens Loan Arena in Cleveland to watch the Cleveland Gladiators (Arena Football League) battle the San Jose SaberCats which was a social event organized by the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals group.

WOW.  Fun stuff!

Our group had awesome seats, VIP passes to the End Zone Club, and the Gladiators entertained us with an 82-21 win and the second highest margin of victory in AFL history.

If you have never been to one, AFL games are fast-paced. The Gladiator players are incredibly interactive with their fans, and it is just an all-around great time.

Phew! Now I am tired and ready for some rest and relaxation! Be sure to get out there, experience all that our community and its residents have to offer!
