Kelly Toppin seeks Ward 3 Council Seat


Stow resident Kelly Toppin has announced that he is seeking the Ward 3 City Council Seat in November's General Election.

"I think now is the time to take this step and represent Ward 3 on City Council.  My mission is to be the voice for Ward 3 and to be accessible to the residents so their concerns and questions may be addressed" said Toppin who has previously served as Chairman for the Commission on Disabilities for the City of Stow.  Toppin stated his motto is "Our City...Your Voice" as he believes that as an elected official you need to listen to and act upon your constituents concerns.  Toppin stated he will also be focusing on working on balancing the budget and community safety and awareness.

Toppin, 44, is a Manager at PASCO Inc. in Hudson, Ohio and has previously served as a legal supervisor for Weltman, Weinberg & Reis, Co. L.P.A. in Cleveland, Ohio

Along with serving on the Commission on Disabilities for the City of Stow, Toppin also serves on the Administrative Board for the First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls and is a past Chairman for the Relay for Life.  Mr. Toppin also ran for Stow Munroe Falls School Board in 2011.

Mr. Toppin is a member of the Stow Band Parent's, the Free & Accepted Mason's of Ohio, Tadmor Shrine and the Scottish Rite Valley of Akron.

Toppin graduated from Jefferson Area High School (Ashtabula County) in 1987 and received his undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Secondary Education from Heidelberg University in 1991.  Mr. Toppin received his MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2002 with a focus in e-business.

Toppin is a 15 year resident of Stow, and lives with his wife (Lisa)  and two daughters (Emily and Sarah) who both attend Stow Munroe Falls City Schools.
