Silver Lake Park book signing at The Bookseller Inc. on April 26

The Bookseller Inc., 39 Westgate Circle in Akron, will host a book signing for Silver Lake Park, a pictorial history of one of northeast Ohio’s best loved amusement parks, on Sat., April 26 from 2 to
4 p.m.

The book is written by Stow author and historian Mary L. McClure and was published by Arcadia Publishing as part of its Images of America series.

Silver Lake Park, which operated in Silver Lake, Ohio, from the 1870s-1917, had dozens of attractions ranging from one of the largest dance halls in the area, a miniature railway, roller coaster and other mechanical rides, live animal exhibits, including the first public aquarium in Ohio, an early aviation field, water toboggans, steamships and much more.
