It’s Thursday, and you have no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue. We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

Why Go: Spend an evening with the Akron Pops Orchestra. Kristan Crane conducts.

Why Go: Shop local farmers and vendors.

Price: Free entry.

Why Go: This will be a Swiss-style competition. Each player will play multiple games and will be matched with other players his or her own age. Winners will receive prizes. Bring a bag lunch; the library will provide beverages.

Why Go: Bring the kids to see a movie and enjoy free snacks and activities.

Why Go: David Afkham conducts the orchestra as it performs Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10 and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3. Jon Kimura Parker will solo.
