Stow Turns Teal for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Stow woman wraps ribbons around trees to raise awareness

Teal ribbons recently popped up on trees around Stow as one woman aims to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.

Julie Nawrocky Reis has tied dozens of the ribbons around trees to mark the fact September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month.

As a survivor, her goal is to raise awareness among women of the treatable disease.

"Thankfully, I have been without evidence of disease for just over a year now," she said. "And now I'm hoping to help more women learn how to protect themselves from this deadly disease."

Nawrocky Reis is partnering with local business to raise money for ovarian cancer research and to provide pamphlets and other information about the disease in local storefronts.

You can support her efforts via her fundraising page online.
