Around the Patch: Finishing Touches on Bicentennial Art, Book Signing and 'Buddy Walk'

Take a peek at what is happening in communities near Stow.

We might not always notice it, but interesting things happen outside of Stow! Here's a look at some top news stories from around Stow Patch:

  • George Danhires is putting the finishing touches on his  to debut it in time for Kent's annual Art in the Park at Fred Fuller Park this Sunday. According to Kent Patch, the bronze sculpture will be six feet by four feet and weigh about 550 pounds when completed.
  • Strongsville Patch just reported that native Lisa Black, author of a series of crime fiction thrillers featuring Cleveland forensic scientist Theresa MacLean, will speak at the Strongsville Library at 7 p.m. Sept. 28. You can register for the event by calling 440-238-5530 or visiting the Cuyahoga County Public Library website.
  • The North Canton Patch is featuring a heartwarming story about Randy Wharton and Brett Kush who are co-coordinators of this year’s National Down Syndrome Society’s Buddy Walk. The event is scheduled for Saturday morning at Price Park in North Canton. Registration begins at 9 a.m.
