Digital Bookmobile Makes eBooks, Music & Movies Easy to Check Out & Enjoy

On Tuesday, August 2, a 74-foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer will roll in to our parking lot. This giant Digital Bookmobile gives visitors a chance to learn how to use eReaders, how to download music and videos, and how they can access the library’s growing collection of downloadable materials from just about anywhere in the world. A gadget gallery inside the Bookmobile —featuring an iPod touch®,  Android™ tablet, NOOK™, Sony® Reader™, BlackBerry®, Windows® Phone, and more— lets everyone try out these portable devices for themselves.

Patrons with a library card, a proper device and internet access can check out available items any time, wherever they may be, from the library’s website: www.smfpl.org. Returning items is easy; once they are due, the borrowed materials disappear from the borrower’s device and become available to the next patron. The Digital Bookmobile, operated by OverDrive, Inc. and manned by library staff, provides a fun, interactive way to learn how to download eBooks, music and movies at the library, or from afar.

No registration is required; just drop by any time on August 2, between 10 a.m. & 4 p.m. Questions? Contact (330) 688-3295, extensions 228 or 4.
