Library Marks Card Sign-Up Month

Stow-Munroe Falls Library holds special events for September

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library joins with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide to make sure that everyone in the community has a free library card.

Multiple resources are available at SMFPL to anyone who has a library card. Parents can turn to the library for materials, programs and services that promote reading for their children. Check out their fall storytimes or other fun events for children and adults on the online calendar at www.smfpl.org

For those who have eReaders, the library has a huge selection of eBooks. It also offers many databases that are free to patrons, including the AtoZ databases that can help patrons find a job.

“Our library is a community information center,” Ann Malthaner, Marketing and Public Relations Manager at SMFPL, said. “We provide exciting and engaging programs, as well as resources that patrons can access from the library or from home, which makes a library card a must have resource.”

Throughout the course of the month, the library will host a number of activities, including WednesdayCone Night at Handels Ice Cream in Stow, where those who show their library card will receive a special price on ice cream cones. Also, during the month of September when you sign up for a free library card you will receive a special gift.
