Community Job Club, Inc. Invited to Attend Civic Engagement Initiative in Columbus

The Community Job Club, Inc. in Stow continues to gain exposure at the state and federal levels.

Ohio Department of Aging to Sponsor Statewide Event

of Stow has been invited by the Ohio Department of Aging to participate in the state's new Civic Engagement Initiative at a statewide event on Thursday, March 15, in Columbus.

Community Job Club, Inc. Executive Director sees the event as an excellent opportunity for more exposure throughout Ohio and hopes to meet potential backers interested in supporting the Community Job Club, Inc. with funding to serve mature workers.

The Civic Engagement Initiative expands the focus of lifelong learning and volunteerism as tools for increasing job readiness among adults age 50+. The main presentation, Preparing Ohio's New 50+ for 21st Century Jobs, will inform attendees about the current jobs situation, resources and the initiatives the department is spearheading at the state level to meet the needs of older workers, learners and volunteers.

The kick-off event is a collaboration of the Department of Aging and state-level Civic Engagement Initiative partners: Ohio Board of Regents, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Corporation for National and Community Service.

During the kickoff, attendees will hear why Ohio has expanded its approach to civic engagement from leaders around the state, including employers, job seekers, nonprofits and education providers.
