Beef 'O' Brady's Opens in Stow Monday

A quartet of business partners who spent three years searching for the perfect Stow location for a Beef 'O’ Brady’s restaurant will finally see their dream come to fruition Monday.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 10:45 a.m. Monday at 3732 Darrow Rd., the . A two-month renovation of the 4,386-square-foot building has resulted in a 158-seat casual dining pub that caters to families and sports lovers alike.

The walls are adorned with framed sports memorabilia representing the Stow-Munroe Falls School District, area colleges, as well as the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and Browns.

Bob Frangos, managing partner for Beef 'O’ Brady’s of Northeast Ohio, said he and his business partners are thrilled to finally open a franchise in Stow. “We love our location – right in the middle of Stow,” he said.

Three years ago Frangos, a Uniontown resident, partnered with David Heffelman of Stow, Andy Maimona of Hudson and Don Bullock of Tallmadge to introduce the restaurant to their home region. They had become fans of the chain during annual golf trips to Florida.

“We wanted our first restaurant to be here, so we joined the (Stow-Munroe Falls) Chamber of Commerce three years ago and started searching for a location. But we couldn’t find an adequate site,” said Frangos.

Since then, the partners have maintained a strong presence in the chamber – even though they didn’t have a restaurant in the city. Doris Stewart, chamber executive director, said Beef 'O’ Brady’s has been the main event sponsor of the chamber’s annual golf outing the past two years, has donated to its gift basket raffle and is supporting the “Shop Chamber Members” discount card.  

“We are excited that they are finally opening here in Stow and that they will be catering our annual golf outing this year,” Stewart said. “We know from first-hand experience that they are committed to supporting the chamber and the communities where they are located.”

The men have also have been sponsoring youth baseball and men’s softball teams in Stow during that time frame.

Since they couldn’t find a suitable Stow location, the partners opened their first Beef 'O’ Brady’s in Brimfield in July 2008, followed by their second restaurant in Wadsworth in November 2009. But the search for a Stow location continued.

Why Stow?

“Everything about Beef 'O’ Brady’s is community-centered,” Frangos said. “You look for a good community with good families and strong sports programs. Stow is a great fit for Beef 'O’ Brady’s.”

Frangos said the restaurant had more than 400 applicants for the 39 part- and full-time jobs it created. “Ninety percent of the new employees are Stow residents,” he explained.

Only manager Adam Amburgey of Kent was transferred from another Beef 'O’ Brady’s. He had worked at the Brimfield location since its opening as a bartender and keyholder.

Menu

The Beef 'O’ Brady’s menu offers more than 70 choices, the majority of which are priced under $10. There are regular weekly specials offered, such as all-you-can-eat boneless wings for $9.99 every Thursday.

Kids accompanied by an adult eat free every Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. “We will always have a magician or balloon twister here to entertain them,” Frangos said.

The restaurant has a full liquor license and shows nothing but sporting events on its 23 big-screen HD televisions served by 13 zones of DIRECTV. That means the eight TVs in the bar area alone can show eight different events at once.

“One of the things that’s great about Beef 'O’ Brady’s is that you can bring a child to watch sports events in a family atmosphere,” said Frangos.

Beef 'O’ Brady’s offers affordable catering services, either on-site in the restaurant’s 34-seat party room or at outside locations. The party room is available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

Frangos said the restaurant’s regular hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays. “We will stay open later for special events or sports games, both local and national, until 2:30 a.m. if needed,” Frangos said.

The restaurant will hold its official grand opening ceremony, complete with giveaways, sometime in August.
