Chamber Seeks Business Sponsors for Gift Basket Fundraiser

The Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce is looking for businesses to donate gift baskets for its 11th Annual Gift Basket Silent Auction Fundraiser.

This year, the baskets will be at the city of Stow’s Summer Sunset Blast on Friday, Aug. 30, and Saturday, Aug. 31, for public bidding from 5 to 8 p.m.

New this year is a buy it now feature, which will allow bidders to purchase the item for the listed price.

John Pribonic, committee chair for the fundraiser, said the fundraiser gives great exposure to chamber member businesses. He said business owners can select any basket theme, with a minimum value of $25, although many past baskets have been valued in the hundreds of dollars.

“We encourage businesses to put their business cards on the baskets, as a way to identify and promote the donor,” Pribonic said. “The Chamber will place an advertisement in the Stow Sentry prior to the event to recognize donors.”

Businesses that donate baskets also will be recognized during the Chamber’s September luncheon, in its September newsletter and on the website at www.smfcc.com.  All donor names will be displayed during the fundraiser.

Chamber members that want to participate and be listed in advertisements can contact the chamber before the Aug. 16 deadline.  Baskets will be accepted until Aug. 23, but late arrivals will not be listed in the advertisements due to printing deadlines.
