Marhofer to ask Planning Commission for Rezoning of Houses

Car dealer wants 3 residential properties zoned commercial

Ron Marhofer, the owner of Marhofer Chevrolet, will ask the Stow Planning Commission Tuesday to rezone three residential properties just east of his car dealership to commercial properties.

Marhofer will ask the commission to rezone the three residential properties on Thorndale Avenue from R-3 to C-3 community retail.

The properties at 1941, 1947 and 1955 Thorndale Ave. each have a single-family dwelling on the property. Combined, they total about 1.3 acres.

The car dealer has been eyeing the expansion of his dealership—a move many residents of Thorndale Avenue have opposed.

The planning commission will hear the request Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Stow City Council chambers.
