Matco Tools Launching Nationwide Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

Stow kick-off event Monday to feature appearance by NHRA driver Antron Brown, charity car show and more.

Matco Tools is launching a nationwide breast cancer awareness campaign Monday with an action-packed public event at its Stow headquarters that includes an appearance by Matco’s top fuel pilot Antron Brown, a charity car show, entertainment, tool giveaways and more.

The company – a subsidiary of Danaher Corp., a Fortune 500 company – is kicking-off breast cancer awareness month by unveiling its “Tools for the Cause” campaign intended to raise a minimum of $100,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

While the charity car show runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, the kick-off event begins at 4:30 p.m. with:

  • Informational speeches by Matco leaders about the “Tools for the Cause” campaign; a speech by Stow Mayor Sara Drew and others.
  • The debut of the “Tools for the Cause” video.
  • A chance to visit the front of Matco’s headquarters, which will feature pink lighting, signage and decorations throughout the month of October.

Following the kick-off event, attendees can enjoy Matco Tools’ charity car show in the company parking lot at 4403 Allen Road. There will be entertainment, raffles, tool giveaways and refreshments. A car show flyer is attached to this story in .pdf form.

Jessica Gardner, Matco marketing communications manager, explained in a press release that “the Matco Tools family is full of strong women—distributors, technicians, employees and wives, many of whom are battling or have survived breast cancer," and that the campaign is being staged in their honor.
