Business Professionals Unknowingly Damage Their Reputation on LinkedIn Everyday

More than 200 million business professionals utilize LinkedIn to connect with prospects, promote their business and seek new business opportunities. Yet, due to a lack of knowledge or understanding of perceptions, most users are hurting their reputation through simple bad habits. After conducting a LinkedIn survey, Deborah Chaddock Brown uncovered the top seven bad habits business professionals’ exhibit that not only hurt their reputation but also turn off potential customers or employers.

“It is amazing how many people are missing business opportunities by making simple mistakes like failing to include their picture on their profile,” said Deborah Chaddock Brown, Social Media Professional and founder of AllWrite Ink, an Internet writing firm. “LinkedIn is a professional network in which business professional have the opportunity to share their expertise, build community and make connections that can further their career. However, if they fail to use the network correctly they run the risk of being perceived as untrustworthy, lazy or unprofessional.”
