Variety of Free Entertainment Planned for Relay For Life Event

The public invited to enjoy dancers, concerts, games and other activities planned as part of Relay For Life of Stow and Munroe Falls.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Stow and Munroe Falls is a fun-filled, overnight event that unites friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools and churches…people from all walks of life who have come together to finish the fight, all with the shared goal of supporting a cure for cancer. Relay For Life Co-Chairs Brad Bebout and Rhonda Eddy, along with the Relay planning committee, have an exciting jam-packed schedule of all-ages activities planned for the day and night of Relay. The Relay will be held from 10:00 a.m.  June 1 to 10:00 a.m.  June 2 at the Akron General Health and Wellness Center-North, 4300 Allen Rd., Stow.  Visitors to Relay will be entertained by talented performers who are donating their time at the event, including Jody Soland, Talent Tree, Michael Bass, Marquette School of Dance, and Amanda Joy Hall. Relay attendees can participate in a cornhole tournament, a poker tournament, bingo, Lifesize Monopoly, a scavenger hunt, and other games. Amanda Joy Hall will sing at the opening ceremony at 10am and also at noon. Jody Soland will play her songs at the Survivor-Caregiver ceremony at  8:45PM on Saturday and at the Luminaria Ceremony that follows. What can you bring to relay?  You can bring your hope, your inspiration to others fighting this disease.  You can walk the track alongside those who share the hope.  You can bring your energy and enthusiasm.  You can help raise the funds necessary to find a cure by purchasing a luminaria in remembrance of one lost to cancer or in honor of a survivor; you can visit the campsites of the 25 teams who have taken up the fight and purchase something that they are selling; you can visit the concession stand.  One in three people in the world will be touched by this disease.  Let’s strive for a world where no one will ever again have to hear the words “You have cancer.” Come for an hour or come for the day.  One person CAN make a difference. For more information on Relay For Life, contact Event Co-Chairs Brad Bebout at bwbebout@yahoo.com  330.322.5473, Rhonda Eddy at hopefulhearts@me.com, or visit the website www.relayforlife.org/StowMunroeFalls For more information on the American Cancer Society, contact Jamie Zychowski at 1-888-227-6446 x2201 Jamie.Zychowski@cancer.org
