Today, Rep. Dave Joyce (OH-14) hosted Sister Jacquelyn Gusdane, President of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School in Chardon, Ohio, as the guest chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives. The House Chaplain Fr. Pat Conroy oversees a program in which Members of Congress may sponsor guest chaplains. Rep. Joyce recommended Sister Jacquelyn as a guest chaplain and this morning she opened the House of Representatives with a prayer. Sister Jacquelyn is of the Notre Dame order and is the first nun in 10 years to deliver the opening prayer. After Sister Jacquelyn’s prayer, Rep. Joyce delivered a floor speech thanking her for graciously accepting his invitation.
